Here I am sharing my learnings from Pragya-puran , written by Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya But before doing so let's try and learn about this book by answering famous 5Ws and Hs : What does Pragya-puran, the book, entail ? Despite being children of God, humans still undergo sorrow. This book offers insights into ways one can diminish and overcome that grief. It underscores that embracing the principles outlined in these Puranas empowers individuals to achieve divinity and cultivate a heavenly existence on earth by instigating positive changes within themselves. Who is the writer? Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya, an Indian author, freedom fighter, social reformer, saint, scholar, orator, intellectual guru, and leader, founded both All World Gayatri Pariwar ( AWGP ) and Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya ( DSVV ). He translated the entire Vedic literature into clear Hindi, offering a comprehensive introduction, and authored over 2400 informative books in Hindi that spanned various aspects of life. When and Where was this book written or published? The first volume of Pragya-puran underwent modifications and was reissued by Yug Nirman Yojana Extension Trust, Gayatri Tapobhoomi Mathura, in the year 2014. Why was this book written, the objective/need ? Numerous anecdotes in Indian history and Puranas offer solutions to a myriad of challenges encountered by humanity. Our ancestral sages composed 18 Puranas, encapsulating the teachings of Vedas and Upanishads. Similar to Vyas Ji, Pt. Shri Ram Sharma Acharya Ji authored/composed this 19th Purana. He meticulously curated a selection of narratives and compiled them into this 19th Purana, incorporating numerous examples presented in the form of stories from various eras and diverse societies. This is because, as we understand, stories serve diverse purposes, serving as a medium to impart valuable lessons or simply to provide entertainment. Irrespective of the intention, storytelling typically entails conveying a moral or valuable life lesson. Hence, a theory or approach is introduced in this book, using examples intertwined with stories to enhance awareness and facilitate the discovery of solutions. The emphasis of this book lies in the idea that embracing the principles outlined in this 19th Purana empowers individuals to achieve divinity and cultivate a heavenly existence on earth through positive changes within themselves. In the contemporary era, despite notable progress in technology and comfort, there has been a regrettable decline in our moral standing. We are currently confronted with the state of humanity, making it highly relevant to disseminate Brahm-Gyan among the general populace. With the noble intention of localyan, we aim to uplift society. As this book portrays the situation of crisis that has emerged due to the challenges of the era and offers a response in the form of the expression of knowledge, through the power of divine messages, to initiate the Pragya Yuga (Era of Consciousness). It also elaborates on how spiritual self-realization should be practically embraced to address corrupt thinking and unethical behavior and in the end, it provides a detailed view of the possible circumstances of the Satyuga (Golden Age) through the alignment with supreme wisdom . So emphasizing that adopting the principles outlined in these books, individuals will understand and will opt for attaining divinity and develop a heavenly existence on Earth by initiating positive change within themselves. All awakened-enlightened Souls, persist in their efforts to enhance society with the noble intention of lok Kalyan, disseminating Brahm-Gyan among the common people. There are many conversations recored-documented in ancient texts, occurred between Sutji-shaunak, Shivji and Kakabhushundi, Raja Janak and Gyanvalkya , Gyanvalkya- bharadwaj, Ashtavakra-Pippalada, between Kakabhushundi and garud etc… So now what is Brahm-Gyan and where to find it ? Brahm-Gyan is to find Spirituality within, as Self-Realization Brahm-Gyan is to find Spirituality within, as Self-Realization. Brahm-Gyan is to find Spirituality within, as Self-Realization. We know Humans can acquire material achievements in this realm, but in the inner world, with the infinite cosmos, resides the power of consciousness. If individuals will experience happiness in the absence of spiritual wealth, true peace eludes them, and though they may attain possessions, satisfaction will remain illusory. A complete human encompasses both internal and external aspects, highlighting the importance of conscious achievements as much as material one. Journeying through the spiritual realm can lead to satisfaction from a physical standpoint, fulfillment from a knowledge standpoint, and the invaluable attainment of peace from a soulful perspective. Understood the Self-Realization is first step for Brahm-Gyan but how to attain Self-Realization ? Know yourself and Be yourself:- Evaluate both your weaknesses and your strengths. Discover your true self and embrace it, but keep increasing your eligibility. External material resources, along with Internal divine potentialities:- The Earth serves as the exclusive stage where the consequences of one's actions proliferate. Angels or devils, despite possessing knowledge of the inner world and reaping its outcomes, lack a physical form to manifest and experience the results of karma. But on the other hand, Through the application of his discernment and foresight, humanity can harness these resources to their fullest extent and attain excellence. Judicious utilization of material resources or Materialized actions guides one towards heavenly outcomes, whereas their misapplication can lead to undesirable consequences. Seize your own fate:- Profit doesn't always emerge or present itself in the perfect circumstances; at times, you have to create the opportunity yourself. Individuals shape their own destinies, so don't wait for anything. Even if you patiently anticipate them, there's no assurance that your mind, brain, or body will be in-condition or ready to seize them when they arrive. Be independent and build your life: - Embracing self-reliance as a virtue or objective leads to a fulfilling and joyful life. Instead of resting on past achievements, focusing on personal growth and continuously enhancing one's own value while striving for excellence opens doors to additional virtues and opportunities.Once you learn to appreciate the significance of life, recognize the value of your goals, and foster a passion for attaining them. With unwavering determination to persist in your pursuit, success will gradually become attainable. Recognize the worth of your life, appreciate the importance of your goals, and cultivate a strong determination to continually move towards them. Through persistent effort, achievements will gradually emerge or unfold. Identifying your own ego and dismantle it:- Identifying one's own ego and taking proactive steps to dismantle it before it infiltrates thoughts as the origin of ego and its cited display is the result of neglecting its soul element. For example, there is a story comes in purana that Jai-Vijay, the gatekeepers of Vishnu, who, driven by ego, showed disrespect to noble souls like Sanat-Sandan-Sanatan and Santkumar. Despite having originated from a sense of duty, their ego led them astray, causing them to lose their wisdom and overstep their bounds. As a consequence, they were cursed to descend to Earth in the form of demons. Neither rush nor procrastinate decision-making :- Exercise discretion in decision-making, avoiding hasty choices or unnecessary delays. True wisdom lies in making well-considered decisions at the right moment.
